The Gospel

God tells us in His Bible that everyone has sinned. Here is one of many Bible verses that talks to that:
The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
It might even be worse than you think. Here is what the Holy Lord God Almighty thinks of you when you are not dwelling in Jesus and being led by His Holy Spirit:
as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one."
"Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive."
"The venom of asps is under their lips."
"Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness."
"Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known."
"There is no fear of God before their eyes."
(Romans 3:10-18)
Not very flattering, is it? It is important to realize that ultimately only God’s opinion matters because He is the one to whom you will be giving an account of how you lived your life. And He has a zero-tolerance policy about sin—otherwise His absolute holiness would be compromised. Many people argue that they have done more good than bad, but God’s standard is not based on that kind of thinking. After all, if you only murder one person every year, do you really want to argue that you do not deserve to be punished because you refrained from murdering people 364 days a year, and you only murdered people one day each year?

If you find this sobering, then you will probably want to see what God has instructed you to do about it.
